Open knowledge

Open scientific knowledge is about making research results and products accessible, reusable, and useful over the long term. It includes, among other things, open access to scientific publications, research data and associated metadata, educational resources, source code, and hardware. The aim is to enable more people to access, check, use, and build on scientific knowledge, while ensuring that openness is designed with regard to legal, ethical, and practical conditions.
