The Swedish National Data Service (SND) is a national research infrastructure that enables Swedish researchers to describe, discover, and share digital research data. The infrastructure is operated by a consortium of nine universities and funded by the Swedish Research Council. SND develops, for example, the DORIS tool for describing research data and the national portal Researchdata.se, which promotes the sharing and reuse of data. SND also coordinates a national network for research data support at universities and research-performing public agencies. The organisation is a central actor in open science through its work to make research data FAIR and openly accessible.
The Swedish Agency for Digital Government (Digg) works to make data from public administration more accessible, openly shared, and structured. The purpose is to generate public value through innovation, efficiency, and knowledge. Making data from public-sector actors openly available in machine-readable formats increases opportunities to develop new services, strengthen research, and promote collaboration. This benefits not only businesses, civil society, and the public sector but also the research community.
Digg has developed Sveriges Dataportal to collect, make available, and disseminate open and shared data. The portal makes it easier for researchers, companies, and the general public to find and use information.
