Priority areas within open science
The Swedish national guidelines for open science encompass six priority areas. They are grounded in UNESCO’s Recommendation on Open Science, adapted to the Swedish context.
In its Recommendation on Open Science, UNESCO brings together 14 areas within four categories: open scientific knowledge, open science infrastructures, open engagement of societal actors, and open dialogue with other knowledge systems. The six priority areas in the Swedish guidelines are: open access to scientific publications and research data, open research methods and educational resources, public involvement in the research process, and infrastructures that support open science.
